Soaring above the clouds of Skypiea is the Ark Maxim, the personal vessel of Enel, the self proclaimed God of Skypiea. Enel commissioned the construction of the Ark Maxim after his successful invasion of Skypiea, which saw him overthrow Gan Fall as the Sky Island's ruler. Using the surplus of gold found throughout the Shardora Ruins in Upper Yard, Enel assigned his newly acquired soldiers, the Divine Squad, to construct the Ark Maxim. This flying ship is the only one of its kind in One Piece's diverse selection of ships, as it is powered by a Devil Fruit - Enel's Goro Goro no Mi, which drives an array of propellers enabling the ship to fly. Enel also employed the Ark Maxim to unleash devastating lightning-based attacks, wreaking havoc on both the Straw Hats and Skypiea's inhabitants.

The Bandai Grand Ship Collection, which includes the Ark Maxim, offers an excellent opportunity for fans of One Piece to showcase their love for the series through model building. The Ark Maxim is a snap build kit that does not require any tools for assembly. Each part is designed to be easily removed from the runner, and a set of colour correcting stickers is included to ensure an impressive display right out of the box. Unlike other ships in the collection, the Ark Maxim does not have a two piece hull, as it is not designed for seafaring. Instead, Bandai provides an elevated display base and an array of cloud effect parts to create the ultimate display piece.
