The Morris C8 Field Artillery Tractor, commonly referred to as the “Quad”, was one of the most widely used towing vehicles in the British Army during World War II. Designed to tow artillery pieces such as the 25 pounder field gun and the 17 pounder anti-tank gun, the Quad was a reliable and sturdy 4×4 vehicle that served on all major fronts.

The Mk.II version of the C8 introduced improvements in visibility and internal layout, while retaining the unique sloped bonnet and compact cab structure that allowed it to negotiate tight positions on muddy battlefields. The vehicle could carry a full gun crew and essential equipment, often equipped with canvas covers and packed with stowage for field operations.

Used extensively in North Africa, Europe, and Asia, the C8 Mk.II was integral to the British artillery’s mobility and effectiveness.

This model by Gecko faithfully reproduces the early Mk.II variant, ideal for recreating wartime supply lines, gun batteries, and convoy scenes in your diorama.
