Nissan’s Skyline has been an ambassador for high performance Japanese cars for many a year. The series, which stretches all the way back to 1957, was joined in August 1981 by the sixth generation car that included the sporty 2000 Turbo GT-E S. Possessing a sleek wedge body design and 145hp 2 litre inline six turbo engine, its 4 wheel independent suspension had front strut and rear semi trailing setups, disc brakes front and rear, and even switch operated adjustable shocks with variable stiffness. Technology buffs of the day were captivated by features such as a Driver Guide System which used a directional sensor as a compass to give straight line distance to your destination, and with such a consummate package of style, performance and cutting edge technology it was inevitable that the car would enjoy massive popularity.
