The legendary Skyline GT-R was first recreated in 1969 and took countless touring car race victories; the name was sorely missed as it disappeared from models after 1973, returning to great acclaim some 16 years later in Spring 1989. Also known as the R32, this iteration of the Skyline GT-R had a 280hp inline six DOHC twin turbo engine combined with a torque split four wheel drive system, the Super HICAS four wheel steering setup, and multilink suspension: top end technology for its day. Retaining the two door coupe form, it sported blister fenders and a front bumper with yawning air intakes, as well as a rear wing. It went on to dominate Group A races, recording an astonishing 29 consecutive wins in Japanese Touring Car Championship races between 1990 and 1993.
