The Bloch 174, a multi purpose aircraft developed from the Bloch 170 of 1936, was a three seat, twin engine reconnaissance bomber. The first prototype made its maiden flight on January 5, 1939. The aircraft proved to be extremely manoeuverable and distinguished itself through good overall performance. Several other aircraft remained in service until the end of World War II.
