The O-class battlecruisers were the battlecruisers included in the German "Project Z" to replace the Deutsches-class during World War II. The main guns are three 380mm twin turrets, the same as the Bismarck class. The power system of the O-class is quite characteristic. It adopts a three-shaft propulsion method. The steam turbine is responsible for driving the two shafts on both sides, and the central shaft is driven by a MAN diesel engine to meet the requirements of endurance and speed at the same time. The ship was originally designed to be used as a high-speed breaker in the Atlantic, and it was planned to start construction at the three shipyards in Kiel and Wilhelmshaven at the same time in 1939, but the construction plan was cancelled at the end of that year.
