The Messerschmitt Bf 109G, often referred to as "Gustav" by Allied pilots, was the Luftwaffe’s primary fighter from 1943 and was widely used on all World War II fronts. Thanks to its excellent manoeuverability, high speed and adaptability to various combat roles, the G-5 and G-6 variants were crucial for the German air force and its allies, including Finnish, Italian, and Slovak air units.
